A missing boatie has been rescued after getting into trouble in waters north of Auckland.
Coastguard was called on Thursday afternoon to reports that a boat had flipped and was missing from Hobbs Bay near Gulf Harbour.
Coastguard sent the North Shore rescue boat to look for the man, who was believed to be in the water.
He was spotted by police eagle helicopter and picked up in between Gulf Harbour, Whangaparaoa and Tiritiri Matangi Island.
"He's alive and probably a bit cold, but they found him," she said.
The man was taken back to shore.
"He is now receiving medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries," a police spokesperson said.
Beverley Tse, a St John spokeswoman, confirmed the ambulance service was called to a water incident in Hobbs Bay at 2.45pm.
